Privacy Policy

Clarity Companion (Claire) is a daily companion for older adults and the families who love them. This policy explains what we store, who can see it, how long we keep it, and how you can pause or delete it. We never collect more than we need to bring you warm conversation, cherished memories, gentle reminders, and family connection.
What we store
- Consent choices. Your decisions about what Claire may do — talk with you, remember what you share, share with your family, send reminders, and check in. You can pause or withdraw any of these anytime (see below).
- Memories. The personal details you and your family share with Claire, stored so Claire can bring them up warmly in conversation. A memory your family shares is treated as something you recall — never as a medical record.
- Reminders. The daily reminders you and your family set. A medication reminder is your own note — it does not change any medical advice from your doctor.
- Subscription. Your plan (Core or Premium), so Claire can offer the features you chose. We never sell a subscription outside the App Store, and you manage it there.
- Connection prompts. When Claire offers to help you reach a family member, and whether a connection happened — never a claim that Claire caused it.
- Activity participation. That you took part in an activity. We do not keep scores, timing, or missed answers.
Who can see it
- You and your family. Your family caregiver can see what you shared, your reminders, your subscription, and whether a connection happened. They cannot see private conversation content or your activity scores.
- Our service partners. Our voice provider (ElevenLabs) carries your conversation so Claire can talk with you; our email provider (Resend) delivers neutral notes to your family; our subscription provider (RevenueCat) handles App Store billing; and, on Premium, our live-avatar provider (HeyGen) carries a photorealistic Claire session. Each receives only what it needs, under your consent.
- We do not sell your data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics in the alpha.
How long we keep it
We keep your memories and your reminders for as long as you use Clarity Companion. We keep a short, non-sensitive record of reminder and connection deliveries for about 12 months for support and reliability. Consent choices are kept as an immutable history so we can show you what you decided. When you delete your account (see below), we pause everything immediately and ask our service partners to delete the data they hold for you within a reasonable time, except where we must keep a record for a legal or safety reason.
Pause or withdraw (you are in control)
Open the app, go to Settings → Your privacy, and pause any scope. Pausing stops Claire from collecting or sharing under that scope going forward. You can also withdraw consent for any sharing scope at any time. Your choices are the durable boundary — no one in your family can override your active consent unless a documented legally authorized representative pathway applies.
Export or delete your data
You can download a copy of everything we hold for you (Settings → Export your data, or your family caregiver can do the same from the web app). You can delete your account and ask us to delete your data (Settings → Delete your account, or see the public deletion page if you have lost device access). Deleting pauses everything immediately; we then delete your data within the timeline above.
Not a monitored emergency service
Clarity Companion is not a monitored emergency service, a medical device, or a clinician. Claire does not detect, diagnose, or treat any condition. If you are in an emergency, call your local emergency number. If you have concerns about your memory or your health, please discuss them with a qualified health professional.
